Nigeria Desk may support its publishing through advertising, sponsorship or affiliate relationships. This page explains the standards that apply when those relationships are used. Advertising and affiliate tracking are not enabled in our launch configuration.
Display Advertising
When display ads are introduced, they should be visually distinguishable from editorial content and navigation. Where an ad label is used, it should clearly identify advertising. We do not ask readers to click advertisements to support the publication.
An advertisement is an offer from its advertiser. Its appearance does not mean Nigeria Desk guarantees the product, provider or outcome.
Sponsored Content
A paid article or sponsored placement must be identified clearly near the content, using a label such as “Sponsored”. A commercial arrangement should not be presented as an independent recommendation.
Affiliate Links
If an article contains a link that may earn a commission, an appropriate disclosure should appear near the recommendation or relevant links. The reader should understand the relationship before acting on it. Affiliate links should use an appropriate sponsored link attribute.
Editorial Decisions
Commercial relationships do not remove our responsibility to check factual claims, explain relevant limitations or correct a material error. We do not promise a favourable review in exchange for a product or payment.
Privacy And Advertising Choices
Advertising technologies can involve personal information and cookies. Before they are activated, the Privacy Policy, cookie information and relevant consent controls must reflect the actual services being used.
Advertising Enquiries
Use the contact page for a commercial enquiry. An enquiry does not guarantee acceptance or placement.
